About us

In 1915 Stephen E. Bayley settled in Pine Point, dug clams in Jones Creek and trapped lobsters off the coast to feed his wife and four sons. When there was enough left over to sell, his wife Ella would cook the lobsters and sell them to people through her kitchen window.

The years passed and the business grew enough so that Steve and his sons bought lobsters from other local fishermen, and built tanks so that they could store larger quantities of lobsters in order to sell to restaurants and other dealers. The business is now owned and run by Steve’s grandson Bill and his great-granddaughter Susan.

Shipping Information

Our website only accepts orders placed three days in advance. We may be able to accommodate faster delivery if you call us at 800-932-6456. We ship only to the 48 continental united states and shipping costs are included in the price.


Delivery Dates and TimesBoxes

All of our orders (except gift certificates and non-food items) are shipped via FEDEX Next Day Air Saver. Delivery times are guaranteed by "end of day" and can be as late as 7-8 pm especially on very busy FEDEX holidays.

Orders cannot be delivered on Sundays, Mondays, or selected dates on or near some holidays. The delivery date you choose must be three days after the day on which you place your order. If you need to receive your product more quickly than that, please call us at 1800-WEBOILM and we will try to accommodate you.

Saturday delivery is available in most parts of the US, but if you would like Saturday delivery, please call us at 1-800-WEBOILM and ask one of our representatives if Saturday delivery is available in your area. We will check for you and can take your order over the phone. There is an extra $20 charge for Saturday deliveries.

If an order is placed for a day on which it is not possible to deliver, we will call or email you to reschedule. We will not ship until we have contacted you.


Product Availability

Our products are always fresh and as such are subject to seasonal availability. We keep this website as up-to-date as possible. If, however, you place an order that we are having difficulty filling, we will try to contact the person who ordered. If we can not get in touch with that person, we will send the closest product of the same value that we do have.


Gift Shipments

If you are sending our products as a gift, please inform the recipient. FEDEX often leaves packages at houses in inconspicuous places to avoid theft. All packages are sent “signature release” so that a signature is NOT required for delivery. It is very likely that FEDEX will leave the package at the door of a residence, even if someone is at home, especially during the busy holiday season. If the recipient is not aware that they are receiving a gift, they may not check their back door, side door, behind the bushes, etc. Neither FEDEX nor Bayley’s Lobster Pound will call ahead to inform the recipient of a delivery.

Bayley’s Lobster Pound is not responsible for packages that are delivered on-time, but not collected from outside by the recipient.

Weather Policy

Adverse weather conditions in any part of the country through which your package must be routed may affect your delivery. FEDEX WILL NOT REFUND MONEY FOR WEATHER-RELATED DELAYS AND THEREFORE WE WILL NOT EITHER. We do try to keep on top of weather conditions to the best of our ability, but if you are concerned about weather, you should contact us to reschedule delivery. If we become aware of a potential problem, we will try to contact you to see if you would like to reschedule or to ship. If we are not able to reach you at the phone number that you have provided, we will have to make a judgment call and Bayley’s Lobster Pound will not refund money for weather-related delays. PLEASE be sure that you have provided us with a phone number where you can be reached on the day that your shipment goes out (the day before delivery), so that we may make informed decisions with your input.


If You Have a Problem

Call us immediately at 1-800-932-6456 so that we can help you to solve the problem. We must be informed of damaged product or late shipping on the day of delivery or the following day in order to be able to correct any problems.
